About the Zero to One Merchant program

We partner with merchants who are ready to serve their neighborhoods through the Vibo Eats Food Bank network. The program helps you access steady demand, trusted logistics, and marketing support as you scale from early-stage to full operations.

Every application is reviewed by the Vibo Eats team. Approved merchants will be contacted for onboarding and allocation planning.

Vibo Eats Zero to One Programme Terms and Conditions

1. Programme Overview

The Vibo Eats Zero to One Programme provides retailers with stock allocation consisting of a 60% grant and 40% repayable amount to support business growth and market access.

2. Eligibility & Registration

Required Documentation:

  • Full name and valid national ID
  • Next of kin details and phone number (required for individual applications)
  • Home location (county and sub-county)
  • Group name (required only for group applications, minimum 3 members)

Individual applications do not require group details.

3. Stock Allocation Structure

60% Grant Component

  • Non-repayable portion provided to support business establishment
  • No repayment required

40% Repayable Component

  • Must be repaid from sales proceeds
  • A guarantee fee of KSh 2,500 must be paid upfront when receiving the first stock consignment and shall be recovered from the first 40% repayment
  • Repayment required before ordering new stock
  • For returning customers, full (100%) payment applies; the 60/40 structure is only for first-time merchants
4. Programme Process
  1. Registration - Submit documentation for verification
  2. Stock Processing - Vibo Eats processes your qualified stock allocation
  3. Delivery Timeline - Stock will be delivered within 14 days upon approval
  4. Stock Dispatch - Products delivered to your location
  5. Sales & Support - Marketing assistance and market linkages provided
  6. Repayment & Reorder - Repay 40%, then order new stock
5. Retailer Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate sales records
  • Handle products with proper care and storage
  • If items are about to go bad and have not been purchased, contact the office so stock can be sent to the nearest food bank and replenished at no extra cost
  • Retailers will cater for extra logistical expenses past the main towns
  • Repay 40% of stock value before reordering
  • Comply with pricing guidelines
  • Report stock discrepancies within 24 hours of delivery
  • Not transfer Programme benefits without written consent
6. Vibo Eats Commitments

  • Offer marketing and business support
  • Provide ready market access through our retail network
  • Remove logistical challenges
  • Build lasting relationships with retailers
7. Termination

Vibo Eats may terminate participation for:

  • False information or documentation
  • Failure to repay the 40% as agreed
  • Fraudulent activities or misconduct
  • Breach of these terms

Retailers may exit by:

  • Providing 30 days written notice
  • Settling all outstanding balances
8. General Terms
  • Stock remains Vibo Eats property until 40% is fully repaid
  • Vibo Eats is not liable for indirect or consequential damages
  • Disputes will be resolved through negotiation and mediation
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya
  • Vibo Eats may modify terms with notice to participants

NB: Vibo Eats assumes no responsibility or liability for any goods once they have been received by the seller. Any spoilage, contamination, improper storage, handling, or resulting foodborne illness, including food poisoning, occurring after receipt is solely the responsibility of the seller.
